Liquid vitamins reality and myth
Several amazing claims have been made public regarding the different brands
of liquid vitamins released on the market. Liquid vitamins were
supposed to be the greatest step forward since the research into
the benefits offered by taking vitamins first began. The reality
is a little bit different depending on some specific factors relating
to the people who choose liquid vitamins instead of other types.
One of the advantages of liquid vitamins is the fact that they seem to be an advantage for people who can't swallow any type of tablet or pill; therefore liquid vitamins are the best solution in this case. Most of the people dealing with this type of problem are children and seniors.
On the other hand, one of the possible disadvantages of liquids is their contact with stomach acids, which are very strong and usually dilute or destroy everything they come across. This turns out to be a problem because vitamins are best absorbed in the upper intestine and nutrients are already dissolved when they get there. Of more use in this case are the tablets and pills, as they are made of a material able to resist digestion until they get to the upper intestine to be digested into the body.
If you are taking tablets rather than liquid vitamins, you should ensure your vitamins do not irritate your stomach. To prevent this, many of them have an enteric covering on them. This enteric outside layer is very useful as it is a cautiously planned deliverance structure which guarantees the nutrients are delivered to the right part of the body (i.e. the gut). Some people can be intolerant to the ingredients in the vitamin tablet, and this enteric coating can make all the difference. However if there is some intolerance shown, liquid vitamins should then be considered.
Another problem related to liquid vitamins is regarding the amount of enzymes content, which is extremely low. Enzymes are essential for a healthy body. Research has proved that they can't survive in liquid for more than 24 hours, so again pills are probably a better option. Again, pills and tablets prove their efficiency as enzymes survive within pill or tablet form as long as the tablets are not expired.
When liquid vitamins first appeared on the market several types were sold for an extremely high price because it was reasoned they had a better efficiency and value than the tablet forms. Since this has now proved to not be the case, the price is gradually falling for these liquid type vitamins, thus making them cheaper for people to buy.
There are also tablet vitamins that appear too hard to be dissolved in the digestive system. This is however, a problem of quality and these types of vitamins should be avoided as any reputable company should not sell you junk type medication.
There are nutritionists who suggest that if a healthy well balanced diet is eaten, vitamins should be surplus to requirements. However many people don't eat the nutrition required for this and supplements are preferred to ensure optimum health is achieved.
